If the project budget is greyed out then please check whether the 'use budget control' parameter is still active in the budget and forecast tab of your project.

About your specific questions:

1) You are right that AX does not allow you changing the project contract once postings have been made. If you need to change it create a new project with a new project contract and shift the costs to that new project by making use of the adjustment functionality.

2) Estimates can be deleted and re-done as often as you like. They should not affect the project button to be greyed out.

Hi,

I am working in test environment to see how fixed price projects work. I have created a project, defined a cost template and periods. I have entered some purchase orders and on account invoices and I have also been able to enter an original budget for a project category and revise the budget. I have been able to enter estimates and recognize revenue based on completion progress.

Now I want to go back and check the budget and revise it. However the "Project Budget" button is grayed out and I am not sure why it is happening. Nothing is changed. The only things I tried was:

1- I tried to see if the project contract can be changed after I have transactions. The system stopped me from changing indicating that there are transactions.

2- Once I was doing the estimates I worked on a scenario that estimate got to 100% and I wanted to see if it can be lowered to manage the changes to a fixed price contract. I was able to lower the completion percentage and the system correctly accrued the revenue.

Will these tests impact the project button to be grayed out? Why is that project button is not active?

Hi Ludwig,

You are correct. The check box for "Use Budget Control" was cleared. The reason we cleared the check box is that when I want to enter a Purchase Order for the project I get an error message and the purchase order is not confirmed. Clearing the check box allows confirming the PO. Now How do I get around the error message for the PO? The error message is:

"Budget has not been adjusted correctly" after I confirm the PO.

It was a setup issue.

Calendar exist, but time scheduler did'nt exist.

We created time scheduler and everything is running fine.

Hi all:

I created a new Workflow for the table CustInvoiceTable (free text) in Ax 2,009.

It is a simple workflow (by the moment and for testing purposes I am using the same user

for submit and the same user for approver).

The first part is working fine (the table is updated with a field with status submmited).

I sign off and enter again to Ax and I will get the alert that an invoice needs to be approved.

But, When I enter to the Free text invoice form for approve it, I just get "Cancel" and

"View History" in the action menu.

We cheked IIS server and it is working fine.

But, the table WorkflowWorkItemTable is empty.

Any news about that? we have Ax 2,009 SP5.

We don't found any method in classes creating a record inWorkflowWorkItemTable table.

I have explained the cause.

Do you have any transactionid /project id on the lines?

If so then try removing those.

Or reverse the po, close it and recreate it.

I have replaced the method (callClassStaticmethod) to "CreateAxaptaObject" as you have suggested , but unfortunately still the error persists.

In AX4 I compiled the class and no errors were found. Please let me know what could do be the cause for this.

One thing I just don't understand in the same .Net Buiness Connector if I use any System then it is working fine. The Problem is only with My Class created in ax4.

is there coding rule that I needs to be followed for creating a class in ax4 and access it through Business Connector.

I have register for free trial of Dynamics 365 for Operation through https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/operations. But i am seeing there are only some functionality are available for use not all. Even i can't see Development work space as well, can anyone suggest on this ??

User is accessing via RDP not direct client. In this case, what can be done? None of the users experience this issue, only this particular user.

We have an issue with 1 user where her font size is incredibly large.

Cleared her Usage Data.

Issue can still be reproduced on multiple surfaces and laptops.

As you allow budget overruns, you should only get warning messages that should not interrupt the process.

Do you also make use of the budgeting module controls?

Unfortunately, there is no easy way to disable it. This part of conflict detection comes from DTSX package which is dynamically created by a .NET assembly (Microsoft.Dynamics.AX.Framework.Tools.MDM.SSISPackageManager.dll).

In our environments this query is also extremely slow. We reported this issue to Microsoft (created LCS ticket). Lets hope they will find a solution.

For now (as a workaround) we have to use custom DTSX packages.

Is it possible to disable conflict detection which is run in Master Data Services database while synchronizing data between systems?

This takes 95% of synchronization time between systems. Source systems is master so no conflict detection is needed at this point.
